The review is about the package still open, not last month’s photograph.

Monitoring & control

Monitoring finds the slip. Control spends people, plant or a crashed schedule to get the date back, while there is still float to spend.

Leaves the phase with
A variance note — and a revised plan if the date has moved
  • A daily progress report, a weekly look at the master plan, a monthly report for the client file
  • Negative variances at activity level, not one percentage for the whole plot
  • Earned value read against the baseline, with cash in the same meeting
  • Then one of: a catch-up, more crew, parallel packages, a second front — issued, not implied

If this phase is skipped. The gap found after the monsoon has already spent the float is a story, not a control.

Sample only — the progress and cash figures are the ones in the ATS method slides. Package weights are a teaching sequence for an industrial plot, not a measured bill. Back to the practice.
